Important Technical and Legal Notes on Vehicle Configuration and Weight Data
In road traffic, each vehicle is approved for a specific maximum weight. This maximum weight must not be exceeded while driving. Therefore, it is crucial to consider the technical and legal requirements regarding the vehicle's weight during the configuration and selection of optional devices ("packages," "equipment features," and "options") in our factory offering.
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/535 of March 31, 2021 (until 06/2022: Commission Regulation (EU) 1230/2012 of December 12, 2012) contains the legal requirements regarding the vehicle's weight. To provide you with the most transparent and comprehensive information about weight data within the configuration, the following explanations and notes from Wingamm Group S.r.l. adhere to the provisions of this regulation. Please read these explanations and notes regarding weight data carefully before configuring and ordering your vehicle. Our dealers will also be happy to assist you in selecting and configuring your vehicle.
The "maximum technically permissible mass" of the vehicle is stated in the registration certificate, Part I (here at point F.1.), and indicates the maximum weight specified by the manufacturer that the vehicle can weigh when fully loaded (e.g., 3,500 kg). It must not be exceeded while driving. Exceeding the maximum technically permissible mass during driving can result in fines in many European countries. In Germany, exceeding the maximum technically permissible mass during driving can constitute an administrative offense subject to a fine. We, therefore, recommend weighing your vehicle before each journey and ensuring that it complies with the maximum technically permissible mass. Complying with the maximum technically permissible mass is your responsibility.
The maximum technically permissible mass is indicated for each living layout in the technical data.
The term "vehicle mass in running order" refers to the vehicle's weight with its standard equipment and onboard tools as specified by the manufacturer ("basic equipment" or "standard equipment"), including the fuel tank filled to 90% and fluids such as lubricating oils, greases, and coolants, onboard tools, tire repair kit, and the driver's statutory weight of 75 kg.
The running order mass is indicated for each living layout in the technical data.

Please note that the data in the technical data regarding the running order mass represents nominal values calculated, subject to production tolerances of up to ± 5%. These legally permitted tolerances can directly affect the actual vehicle weight and, therefore, the additional load or remaining payload. For this reason, these tolerances should be strictly considered when configuring the vehicle.
The "actual vehicle mass" indicates the weight of the vehicle in running order plus the weight of factory-installed optional devices on a specific vehicle.
The "driver mass" is calculated flat-rate at 75 kg, regardless of the actual driver's weight. Since the driver's weight is already included in the running order mass, it is not considered in the allowed passenger mass.
The "passenger mass" results from the maximum number of passengers allowed in driving determined by the manufacturer in the type approval procedure, minus the driver's flat-rated mass of 75 kg.
The number of passengers allowed in driving is indicated in the technical data for each living layout.
The passenger mass is calculated flat-rate at 75 kg per passenger, regardless of their actual weight. In the case of a vehicle with a maximum number of passengers allowed in driving of 4, the passenger mass is therefore 225 kg (3 * 75 kg).
The "standard equipment" ("basic equipment" or "standard equipment") refers to the basic configuration of a vehicle equipped with all legally required features, including all equipment that is installed without being further specified at the configuration or equipment level.
Data regarding the standard equipment ("basic equipment" or "standard equipment") is available for the living layout you have chosen in the following configuration.
The "optional devices" ("packages," "equipment features," and "options") define all customer-ordered equipment components not included in the standard equipment, factory-installed on the vehicle under the manufacturer's responsibility. An optional device does not refer to an accessory that is installed in the vehicle by you or your dealer after the vehicle has been delivered by the manufacturer.
Data regarding factory-orderable packages, equipment features, and options is available for the living layout you have chosen in the following configuration.
Please note that the installation of optional devices always results in a reduction of the payload (see point 6). From the data for the respective living layouts of the vehicle (see point 7), it can be deduced which maximum mass of optional devices can be selected and for which living layout.
The "payload" is calculated by subtracting the vehicle's maximum technically permissible mass, the running order mass, the passenger mass, and the maximum mass of optional devices determined by the manufacturer.
The European legislator prescribes a "minimum payload" for motorhomes, which must be respected for luggage and other accessories not installed by the manufacturer. It must be reached in the vehicle configuration and calculated based on the following formula:
Minimum payload in kg ≥ 10 * (n + L) where "n" is the maximum number of passengers plus the driver, and "L" is the total length of the vehicle in meters.
To comply with the legally prescribed minimum payload, the manufacturer determines the "maximum mass of optional devices" for each living layout. This is the mass available, while respecting the legally prescribed minimum payload, for selecting factory-ordered optional devices ("packages," "equipment features," and "options").
Wingamm Group S.r.l. calculates the maximum mass of optional accessories by subtracting the running order mass, the passenger mass, and the minimum payload.
However, the running order mass of the vehicle is a calculated nominal value, subject to tolerances of up to ± 5% (see point I.). The occurrence of these production tolerances may, in the case of using the entire calculated mass available for optional accessories, mean that the minimum payload is not met.
To ensure that the prescribed minimum payload is not violated, Wingamm Group S.r.l. takes into account the weight differences for each floor plan based on their experience when determining the maximum mass of optional accessories.
Regarding the data in the technical data for the running order mass, it is worth noting that these values are calculated nominal values, subject to production tolerances of up to ± 5%. These legally permitted production tolerances can result from the use of natural materials, such as wood, and production processes employed by some suppliers. Even with optimized production processes, weight variations cannot be excluded due to the materials used. As these legally permitted tolerances directly affect the actual vehicle weight and, therefore, the additional load or remaining payload, they should be strictly considered when configuring the vehicle.

If the actual vehicle mass increases with the selection of optional devices in such a way that based on the calculations between the actual vehicle mass and the technically permissible total mass, there is no longer sufficient additional load capacity for transporting passengers in accordance with type approval, nor the minimum payload, you generally have the option (depending on the living layout) to choose an increased vehicle load, reduce the approved seating places for driving and/or remove optional devices to continue the configuration. Otherwise, you cannot continue the configuration and therefore the vehicle ordering process.
Make sure to check with your Wingamm Group S.r.l. dealer that the maximum technically permissible mass is not exceeded based on calculations, and that there is also sufficient additional load capacity for passenger and luggage transport (minimum payload, see below).
However, even if compliance with the minimum payload is guaranteed, you should observe production tolerances permitted by law in the configuration, as these always affect additional load capacities. Therefore, for each living layout, you can only order a maximum mass of optional devices.
If you order the example vehicle with optional devices weighing a total of 150 kg, based on the nominal value indicated in the technical data for the running order mass, a payload of 180 kg results. The actual additional load capacity may, however, deviate from this value due to legally permitted tolerances. If the running order mass of your vehicle, for example, is permissibly 1% higher than the nominal value indicated in the technical data, the additional load capacity of 180 kg is reduced to 151 kg:
